Stacy Sibona became a massage therapist through a calling well, actually it was a phone call. Stacy had a successful career in the corporate world when fate intervened. A co-worker was in extreme pain, hobbling down the hallway, when Stacy offered to call an acquaintance, a massage therapist, for her colleague. As Stacy hung up the phone a revelation hit her she absolutely knew she should be a massage therapist. Perhaps it was the fact that she was reading the The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield, and was influenced by its message to be open to change, or perhaps it was truly a calling. Whatever the reason, this was the beginning of Stacy's journey to become a certified massage therapist
As often happens with people who embark on second careers, Stacy embraced learning all she could about massage therapy. Attending the Therapeutic Massage Training Center, Stacy completed over 500 hours of course work in Swedish Therapeutic Massage, Reflexology, Shiatsu, Sports, Neuromuscular, and Clinical Massage. She was the staff massage therapist at the respected Podell Medical Center from 1997-2001, as well as the massage therapist at the Murray Hill Health and Racquet Club from 1997 to the present and Center Street Chiropractic from 2004 to the present.
Always on a quest for more knowledge, Stacy's Rubenfeld experience led her to a three-year course of study in Gestalt Training. In addition, upon completion of the Gestalt Training, Stacy embarked upon a 300-hour program focusing on Structural Integration work. Structural Integration is a series of seven to ten sessions utilizing myofascial techniques with the goal of aligning the physical body along the vertical axis. This alignment improves the body's relationship with gravity resulting in increased range of motion, energy and well-being.
